Senator Orji Kalu, has blamed the woes of the South-East geopolitical zone during the last sharing of principal offices in the National Assembly on its decisions to vote against the ruling All Progress Congress (APC).
Kalu, who spoke in his Igbere Country home on Saturday insisted that the zone should not blame the APC for denying it of the NASS principal offices, adding that in politics every party strives to compensate the people from the area of it strength.
The Abia North senator added that he stepped down from contesting for the office of the Deputy Senate president to maintain the peace he enjoins with his party men in order to attract the dividends of democracy to his constituency.
Kalu urged the people of the South-East to rescind its political choice and support the APC, saying that the zone’s political future would be brighter with the party.
“The South-East has all it takes to improve the Democracy of Nigeria because we are second in the population of any state in the Country after the indigenes of the states.
” we are the salt of the Nation because our people takes their business to every part of Nigeria to develop it. All we need to succeed politically is becoming together to dialogue as a people to correct our past mistakes.”
He promised his constituents of adequate presentation in Senate, adding it was only the Abia North senatorial district that gave president Muhammadu Buhari 60 percent vote during the 2019 general election in the either South East and South-South.
